I can’t be around people who nickel and dime folks on the side of the road. Either you give or you don’t.
It’s not up to you to decide how it’s used, if they’re really in need or to determine the credibility of this human being. It’s a gift.
I honestly even feel weirdly about folks who boast about denying homeless people money and instead buying them food so they won’t buy beer or cigarettes. It’s really not your business or your place to determine what they need. You don’t live on the streets, you don’t know what it’s like, you don’t know how they got there. They asked for money not a personal consultation so give what they ask for or at least keep your judgement and sense of moral superiority to yourself.
